Anthony Joseph Pinelli of the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 84 years old. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Colonia for over 50 years. Mr. Pinelli was a United States Army Veteran. He was employed as a warehouse manager with Port Jersey in Bayonne for many years, retiring in 1995. He was a communicant of Saint Andrew's Catholic Church in Avenel, and a member of Saint Cecelia's Council #3639, Knights of Columbus, Iselin; and volunteered for Meal on Wheels and at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Pistilli Pinelli; two daughters, Barbara Pinelli of Colonia and Maria Anan and her husband, Paul, of Fords; a sister Theresa Villanella of Cliffside Park; a brother, Andrew Pinelli, of Emerson; and three grandchildren, Anthony McDonough, Cara Anan and Katrina Anan. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 8:45 a.m. from the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's R.C. Church, 244 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001.
