Anthony W. Pikul, Jr. of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township entered in eternal rest on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 75 years old. Born in Newark; He resided in Avenel for the past 46 years. Mr. Pikul was a Communicant of St. Andrew's R.C. Church in Avenel and was a member of The St. Andrew's Knights of Columbus Council #5088. He was a proud member United States Navy serving from 1955 to 1958 and obtained the rank of BT2 on the USS English. He was employed as a Operating Engineer with Local #68 and was employed by Fiske Brothers, Newark, Alexander's Eatontown, and Pritchard Services at Newark Airport before retiring in 2000. He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine Bottino Pikul; his parents Anthony W. Pikul, Sr. and Jean Marie Okomski Pikul; and a brother Stanley Pikul. He is survived by three daughters Deborah Ielmini and her husband Pete of East Brunswick, Lorraine McHugh and her husband James of South Plainfield, Teresa McGovern and her husband Thomas of Colonia; two sons Anthony Pikul and his wife Melissa of Alexandria, Virginia, Jason Pikul and his wife Dana of Newtown, PA; a sister Joan Pikul of Avenel; a brother Paul Pikul, Sr. of Florence, SC; twelve grandchildren Megan, Michael, Kaitlin, Nicole, Brian, Joseph, Erin, Emma, James, Allyson, Alexa, and Ryan. Funeral will take place on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.Costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel St., Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
