Anthony "Pop" Hutnick passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. He was 92 years old. He was born in, and a lifelong resident of, the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township. Mr. Hutnick was employed as a shipping and receiving clerk with Syncro Machine Company in Perth Amboy for 35 years before retiring in 1985; and was an active communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading where he served as an usher and bingo volunteer. He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Govern Hutnick, in 1996; a granddaughter, Baby Colleen Gibson; three sisters, Anna Lucas, Elizabeth Melder and Mary Parker; and four brothers, Stephen, Michael, John, and Joseph Hutnick. Surviving are a daughter, Celeste Gibson and her husband, Edward K. Gibson, of Morganville; and a grandson, Edward A. Gibson, of Old Bridge. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Entombment will be in Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
