Anthony J. Buonomo passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He was 78 years old.

Born in Jersey City, he has resided in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township since 1966.

Mr. Buonomo was employed as a manager with Fairway Market in Fort Lee for many years prior to his retirement.

He was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading and a United States Air Force veteran.

Mr. Buonomo was an avid NY Giant fan and enjoyed model trains, but his greatest joy was time spent with his beloved grandson, Elijah.

He was predeceased by his wife, Maryrose Davis Buonomo, in 2015.

Surviving are his son, Tucker Buonomo and his wife, Teresa, of Old Bridge; grandson, Elijah; brothers, Dominick Buonomo of Port Monmouth and Richard Buonomo of Red Bank; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Funeral services will be on Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Entombment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to NJ Veterans Home at Menlo Park, Attention: Recreation Department, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ 08837 in Mr. Buonomo''s memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
