Annabelle Baker Gehring

Born 6/27/1926- Death 3/14/2022

Woodbridge, NJ, Point Pleasant, NJ, Sanford ME, and Presque Isle, ME. Annabelle Baker Gehring died peacefully March 14, 2022 at the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in Woodbridge, NJ on June 27, 1926 weighing only two pounds. She was the daughter of Harry John Baker Jr. and Grace Victoria (Brown) Baker.

Annabelle spent her childhood/adolescent years in Woodbridge. She cherished and shared many fond memories growing up; such as staying with relatives in Free Acres, Scotch Plains, NJ, family social gatherings and family holidays.

Annabelle attended Humbolt State College in California. She then came back to Woodbridge and worked at Merck. Eventually she would marry Clifford P. Gehring of Rahway and move to Point Pleasant, NJ where they raised their two sons. She was a successful Real Estate Broker and Insurance agent for nearly 40 years.

Annabelle will be remembered as a loving kind and caring person who was very proud of her family. Some of her joys in life including singing, playing the piano, vacationing at her camp on Eagle Lake, ME, trips to Germany and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Clifford P. Gehring. She is survived by her sister Mary Elizabeth Tappen, her sons Clifford H. Gehring and William C. Gehring and his wife Vicky Gehring, her grandchildren Alex Gehring, Sage Gehring Ouellette and her husband Derek Ouellette her great granddaughter Lily Ann Ouellette and her niece, Dianne Tappen-Bolton.

The closing verse of Annabelle's favorite Psalm is a fitting end to her sojourn of this life and beginning of her eternal life in the presence of her Lord and Savior. "The Lord shall preserve you going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore." Psalm 121:8 NKJV

Funeral services for Annabelle will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday March 26, 2022 at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Interment will follow in Rahway Cemetery in Rahway. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
