Anna C. Hanley died peacefully at home on January 26, 2019. She was 86 years old.
Born on February 17,1932 in Jersey City to the late Louis and Mary Femiano, Anna grew up as the youngest of six children working in the families fruit and vegetable market.
As a young woman Anna worked as a bank teller and retail sales person. She met and married the love of her life Francis X. Hanley on January 17, 1954. They moved to Port Reading in1973 to raise their family. Anna worked for Supermarkets General as an Accounts Payable clerk for many years and upon retirement continued working at the Woodbridge YMCA in the children's nursery.
Anna was a volunteer at heart and was the President of the Woodbridge Women's Club several times while a member. She loved giving back to the community especially to the Veteran's. Anna loved crafting and could be seen selling her handiwork at local street fairs and craft shows. Anna was a devout Catholic and attended church regularly at St. Anthony of Padua in Port Reading where she often volunteered and was a longtime member of the Altar Rosary Society and The Catholic Daughters of America.
Anna was married to Frank for 57 years until his death on May 12, 2011. Anna will be greatly missed by her children, Louise (Hanley) Wysowata and her husband Wally of Port Reading, Frank G. Hanley and his wife Sharon of Woodbridge, Jamie (Hanley) Garda and her husband Tom of Old Bridge ; grandchildren, Brian & Jason Wysowata, Anthony, Stephanie, Gregory, Samantha & Justin Hanley, Michael, Andrew & Lauren Garda and her live in caregiver Ekaterine Asanidze and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Funeral services will take place on January 29,2019 at 8:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:15 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 436 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading. Interment will be at Clover Leaf Gardens Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on January 28, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
