Obituary

Ann Kennedy Patten of Woodbridge passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at home. She was 85 years old.

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, she resided in Woodbridge most of her adult life.

Ann spent her career in the field of education, holding the position of Chief Clerk at Fords Middle School. Her youthful spirit and genuine quick wit was loved and admired by her family, friends and co-workers.

She was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge and a member of The American Irish Association of Woodbridge.

She was predeceased by her husband James E. Patten who passed away in 2016; a son, Michael Patten, who passed away in 2012; and a brother William Kennedy.

Surviving are her daughter Susan Wadsworth and her husband, David, of Narberth, PA; four sons, James Patten of Toms River, William N. Patten and his wife, Katherine, of Woodbridge, Thomas A. Patten and his wife, Wendy, of Woodbridge, and Joseph N. Patten and his wife, Veena, of Howell; a brother James Kennedy and his wife Patricia of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren Nathan, Esther, Kelly, William, Ashley, Thomas, Emily, Nikhil, Jaya, and Nora; great-grandchildren Jasear and Logan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Saint James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
