Allen E. Francis passed away on Friday, May 22, 2019 at his home in Edison. He was 79 years old.

Born in Melbourne, FL, he resided in Woodbridge before moving to Edison 56 years ago.

Mr. Francis was a member and officer of the Local 25 of the International Union of Operating Engineers in Millstone, NJ and a tug boat captain and lead dredgeman with Weeks Marine, Inc. in Cranford, NJ for over 45 years.

He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Woodbridge, where he served as treasurer of the Vestry, volunteered with the food pantry and diaper drive and oversaw the operation of Trinity Church Cemetery. He was also a volunteer member of the Menlo Park Fire Department during his earlier days.

Mr. Francis was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Norma Dossena Francis, in 2016, and parents, Gertrude and Allen W. Francis.

Surviving are his children, Sharon Bonventure of Carteret, NJ, Patrick Francis of Stamford, CT and Tara Molesky of Woodbridge, NJ, and grandchildren, Alexander and Cassandra Bonventure.

Funeral services were private under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Trinity Episcopal Church, 650 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Allen's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
