Alice M. McNamara passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. She was 86 years old. Born in New York City, she resided in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township before moving to Jackson in 2010. Mrs. McNamara was a claims administrator with Saint Paul Insurance Company in Iselin for 10 years before retiring in 1989. She had previously been employed as a cafeteria worker at Saint Cecelia's School in Iselin and with Saint Monica's Church in New York City. Mrs. McNamara was a communicant of Saint Aloysius Church in Jackson and a former communicant of Saint Cecelia's Church in Iselin. Alice cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, above all else and loved throwing parties for family and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond McNamara, in 1998; her parents, John M. and Alice McGovern Clark; and a brother, John "Junior" Clark. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Peter P. McNamara; a daughter, Alice Alexander and her husband, John, of Jackson; four, sons Peter J. McNamara and his wife, Loretta, of Edison, Thomas McNamara and his wife, Sue, of Newton, Patrick McNamara and his wife, Jan, of Jackson and John McNamara of Freehold; a sister-in-law, Bunny Clark of Merrick, NY; and eight grandchildren, Petey, Johnny, Sean, Patrick, Ali, Brian, Timmy and Jenny. Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Cecelia's Catholic Church, Iselin. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
