Alice C. DeFeo passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Saint Joseph's Senior Home in Woodbridge. She was 88 years old.
Born in Newark, she resided in Clark before moving to Toms River 33 years ago.
Mrs. DeFeo was employed as an operator for many years by NJ Bell Telephone; acted as bus coordinator at Silver Ridge Park; and was a former member of the Rosary Society at Saint Theresa Church, Kenilworth.
She was predeceased by her husbands, John Metzinger in 1969 and Domenico DeFeo in 1991; a son, John Metzinger, in 2002; and a brother, George Waldemore, in 2013.
She is survived by a daughter, Catherine Stamato and her husband, Gerard, of Woodbridge; a son, Richard Metzinger and his wife, Ruth, of Burke, VA; and two grandchildren, Nicole and William Stamato.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.Costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 in Alice's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
