Alfreda Neal entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 24 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 93 years old. Born in Jersey City, she resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township for the past 33 years. Mrs. Neal was employed as an instructor and in quality control for Western Electric in Kearny and Clark for 40 years before her retirement in 1977. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading; and belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Neal was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Neal, in 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Soyka, of Colonia; a son, Kenneth Papuzenski, of Clifton; five grandchildren, Robert and Susan Soyka, Michele and Luis Torres and Michael Papuzenski; and five great grandchildren, Zachary and Elizabeth Brantley, Matthew Soyka and Jessica and Dean Torres. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will follow at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 436 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
