Obituary

Alfred J. Petit-Clair, Jr. passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2022.  He was 78 years old.

Born and raised in Newark, he grew up during hard times; and resided in Piscataway, Sewaren, Metuchen, Perth Amboy and Ortley Beach for many years.

Mr. Petit-Clair was employed with the State of New Jersey for the Division of Wages and Hours while attending Rutgers University and Seton Hall School of Law.

He was a longtime attorney in the Metuchen and Perth Amboy areas; and was the Zoning Board Attorney for the City of Perth Amboy for many years.

A kind and giving person, Al was the #1 platelet donor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan for 15 years. He would devote many hours on Sundays to give platelets to people suffering from cancer.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dianne A. Petit-Clair, in 1987; daughter, Adrienne Jean Petit-Clair, in 1999; and parents, Alfred J. Petit-Clair, Sr. and Geraldine Peet Petit-Clair.

He is survived by his son, Matthew J. Petit-Clair, of Bronxville, NY; and many relatives and friends.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 10:00am at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, North Madison Avenue, Avenel. Entombment will follow in Saint Gertrude Mausoleum, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
