Alex Pashkevich passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2014 at his home in Woodbridge. He was 97 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Newark and Irvington before moving to Woodbridge in 1992. Mr. Pashkevich was employed as a printer with Interstate Container Corporation in Edison for many years before retiring in 1987. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Pashkevich was predeceased by his parents, Anna and William Pashkevich; two sisters, Helen Pashkevich and Julie Glinowiecki; and a brother, Peter Pashkevich. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sarah Brantley Pashkevich; a daughter, Gale Ziser, of Cary, NC; a son, Allan Pashkevich, of Woodbridge; four grandsons, Jason and Daniel Ziser and Keith and Brian Pashkevich; and a brother, Joe Pashkevich, of Toms River. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. with a religious service at 8:30 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
