Albert W. Fischer, Jr. passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at VA New Jersey Healthcare System, East Orange Campus. He was 67 years old.

Born in New York City, he has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for most of his life.

Mr. Fischer was a proud United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War; and active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He was a former member and former commander of Avenel Memorial Post 7164; and was currently a member of Post 4410 in Woodbridge where he was past commander. Mr. Fischer was also a member of the Military Order of the Cootie.

He was predeceased by his father, Albert W. Fischer, Sr.; and a brother, Michael A. Fischer.

Surviving are his mother, Mary McNamara Fischer, of Avenel; a sister, Mary E. Fischer, of Carteret; and a brother, William H. Fischer, of South Amboy.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
