Albert L. DeClerico of Staten Island passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Alameda Care Center in Perth Amboy. He was 96 years old.

Born in Staten Island; He was a lifelong resident.

Mr. DeClerico was a graduate of Curtis High School. He worked with Bethlehem Steel before enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard, 3rd Naval District, New York, and served from 1942 until 1945. He attained the rank of second class petty officer.

He was employed with the New York City Department of Transportation in the bus maintenance department and advanced to diesel mechanic. He retired in 1983 as a part manager with the Department of Sanitation.

Albert was known as "Mr. Fix It." A master woodworker, and created toy garages and doll houses. An accomplished athlete in his youth, He excelled in baseball, football and basketball.

He enjoyed all types of dancing and being the deejay for the AARP, churches and different parties.

Mr. DeClerico and his wife traveled extensively, visiting many destinations including China, Thailand, Europe and Scandinavia and cruised to the Panama Canal, Caribbean and Bermuda.

He was predeceased by his parents Camillo and Angela DeClerico

Surviving are his wife of 69 years Anna Mundo DeClerico; two daughters Marie DeClerico of Sewaren, and Dawn Godfrey of Fair Haven; four grandchildren Daniel Donaldson, Amanda Muldowney, Hanna Godfrey, and Katherine Godfrey; a great-granddaughter Eliza Donaldson.
