Alan John Shaw passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home in the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge Township. He was 37 years old. Born in Teaneck, he resided in Jersey City before moving to Hopelawn in 1986. Mr. Shaw was employed as landscaper. Alan had a heart of gold and was an all around nice guy that believed in random acts of kindness. He would often be seen around his neighborhood helping others by doing things like mowing lawns in the summer or shoveling snow in the winter. Surviving are his parents, Arthur and Lynda Marsh Shaw, of Hopelawn; a brother, Thomas Shaw and his wife, Cynthia, of Fords; and nieces and nephew, Julia, Leah and Nico. A funeral service will be held on Monday evening, July 7, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Monday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
