Aisakau Okamura of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2014 at Whispering Knoll Assisted living in Edison. He was 83 years old. Born in New York, NY, he has resided in Avenel since 1989. Mr. Okamura was a United States Army veteran and retired from the United States Air Force as a Sergeant. He was employed with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York for 25 years before retiring in 1993. Mr. Okamura was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel and a member of T. Nulty Post 471, American Legion, in Iselin. He was predeceased by his wife, Aiko Okamura, in 1995. Surviving are two sons, James Okamura of Princeton and William Okamura of Brewster, NY; a sister, Michiko, of California; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Lacey and Callie. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.
