Agnes Kohut passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Francis Parker long Term Care at Landing Lane in New Brunswick. She was 89 years old. Born in Pennsylvania, she resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for many years before moving to Sewaren 8 years ago. Mrs. Kohut was the proprietor of Avenel Beauty Nook for eleven years until 1985. She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel and belonged to the Altar-Rosary Society there. She was predeceased by her husband, Emil Kohut, in 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Hyduke, of Stockton; two sons, Emil Kohut, Jr. of East Windsor and Richard Kohut of Sewaren; a sister in law, Irene Barna, of Avenel; and three grandchildren, Richard, Maria and Matthew. Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
